Brussels, Belgium (July 19th, 1999) - With their new service Counted! STATSnet sprl gives webmasters more than very detailed statistics which help them to optimize their site. The service includes a ranked Site List and websurfers have the possibility to rate the participating sites which will have an influence on their ranking in that list.

After registering, webmasters will receive a personal html code to put anywhere on their pages which will display a small Counted! button. Currently webmasters can choose among 16 buttons or display the targeted button of their category provided it exists. Changing the button can be done at any time via the Account Admin without the need to change the html code on the site. A list of buttons is available at here.

The statistics webmasters will receive include the following:

• unique hits per hour, day, week, month
• impressions per hour, day, week, month
• reloads per hour, day, week, month
• returns per hour, day, week, month
• browser statistics
• operating system statistics
• screen resolution and color depth
• plug-in statistics for Netscape 4 and above
• extensive referrer statistics including searchengine statistics
• and more

All Webmasters can easily sign up for Counted! at http://www.counted.com/webmaster/newaccount/ or with STATSview 2000.

A surfer clicking on the button on any member site can rate that site's design, content and speed. This will influence the ranking of the site in the Counted! Site List from where rating sites is also possible. The Counted! Site List is ranked by the following algorithm:
(Unique Hits of the day + 1) * (Votes for Content*3 + Votes for Design*2 + Votes for Speed)
This algorithm was used to arrange the Site List in such a way that more relevant and more popular sites are listed first in a given category.
